The word is out and it isn't Grease! Boston will soon be my new hometown and naturally this brings up a few questions. These are the answers to a few of the most popularly asked questions.
FAQ: Why are you moving to Boston?
A: I will be going to graduate school. I know! I never thought I'd hear myself say those words either.
FAQ: What school will you be going to?
A: Emerson College. It is located in the theatre district in downtown Boston and is directly across the street from the Boston Commons.
FAQ: What are you going to study?
A: I will be getting an MA in Health Communication. The program is jointly run with Tufts University, so I have to take a few classes there as well. I know, it’s rough to be me. ;)
FAQ: When do classes start?
There are graduate student orientation sessions on the 2nd and 3rd of September. Classes start on the 7th of September, right after Labor Day. No more wearing white AND classes will be starting...whew. The 7th will be a rough day.
FAQ: When do you leave Sacramento?
A: On the 23rd of August. My last day of work is August 13th.
FAQ: That was my next question!
A: I know. I get asked that a lot.
FAQ: How are you getting to Boston?
A: I will be taking the train.
FAQ: Train?!?! Why the train?
A: I have the time! Plus it’s a beautiful way to see the country and is more affordable than driving or flying. As a bonus, I can ship many of my belongings on the train through the Amtrak freight service. All good things!
FAQ: Where are you going to be living?
A: Emerson does not have graduate student housing. I will be living off campus and have signed a lease on an apartment in the Brighton area. I’ll be living with two other amazing women. I’m very grateful!
Stay tuned for FAQ's part deux...coming soon!
